Marqués de Casa Concha Tasting at Concha y Toro from Santiago

4.9 (1,223 verified reviews)

About This Experience

This is the top tasting tier of Turistik's half-day trips to Concha y Toro in the Pirque area of the Maipo Valley. Transport runs from a meeting point in Santiago, not from your hotel, and the group travels together on the operator's bus.

At the Wine Center the visit opens with a walk through the century-old park and past the outside of the historic Casa Don Melchor. Next come the Casillero del Diablo Sensory Experience and the old underground cellar tied to that brand's legend, then the Guarda del Alto cellar and the Concha y Toro lookout over the Pirque valley.

The walk continues through the Garden of Varieties, where the listing says 24 grape varieties grow. The visit ends with a tasting held in a private room: six super-premium Marqués de Casa Concha wines plus four premium wines, served with a cheese board. You keep a Concha y Toro glass.

The listing gives 5 hours in all, of which about 3 are spent at the winery. It is for adults only (18 and over), lunch is not included, and the old buildings mean the route is not fully accessible.

What Travelers Say

Our experience was fabulous! We did the Marquez tour and throughly enjoyed it. The whole facility is gorgeous! And the Casillera del Diablo extravaganza was such fun as they take you through the legend. This part of the tour was entertaining, and they definitely were thinking outside the box. The sensory exp

The winery tour was fantastic, great wine and beautiful setting, great guides. The tour operator on the other hand wasn’t good. This tour charges a high premium for transport, which ultimately, isn’t well organized. We started with pickup at 7.4

This was an excellent half day tour near Santiago. The tour is really sharing facts to the Concha y Toro where, then, their staff takes over. However, I didn’t have to worry about logistics as I showed up and learned more about the history of the vineyards. Of course, I thoroughly enjoyed the wine. Highly recommend!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this tour pick me up at my hotel?

No. Transport runs only from a meeting point you pick when booking: Monjitas 879 near Plaza de Armas, Av. Vitacura 2653 in Las Condes near Costanera Center and Tobalaba metro, or the Turistik shelter at Parque Arauco on Kennedy Lateral 5601. Get there 15 minutes early. The bus brings the group back to these points afterwards.

How many wines are in the tasting?

Ten in total. The listing describes a tasting in a private room of six super-premium Marqués de Casa Concha wines plus four premium wines, served with a cheese board. That is the main difference from the cheaper Premium Wine Center tour, which pours four premium wines and has no Marqués tasting or cheese board.

What do you see at Concha y Toro?

The route covers the century-old park and the outside of Casa Don Melchor, the Casillero del Diablo Sensory Experience and the underground cellar linked to that legend, the Guarda del Alto cellar, the Concha y Toro lookout over the Pirque valley, and the Garden of Varieties with 24 grape varieties. About 3 of the 5 hours are spent at the winery.

Is lunch included?

No. Lunch is listed as excluded and the only food is the cheese board served with the tasting. The tour is 5 hours long and leaves from a Santiago meeting point, so plan to eat before or after. Tips are not included either. You do keep a Concha y Toro wine glass as a gift.

Can children or teenagers join?

No. The listing calls this an exclusive experience for adults and only sells adult tickets for ages 18 and over, so every traveler must be at least 18. It is also not recommended for pregnant travelers. Families with younger travelers would need a different Concha y Toro option that allows minors on the transfer.

Is this a private tour, and in which languages?

It is a shared tour: the listing allows up to 28 travelers on the bus, and the "private tasting" refers to the tasting room, not the tour. Guiding is offered in English, Spanish and Portuguese. You can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before departure, and the tour may be cancelled for bad weather.
