Alyan Family Wines Sunset Tour with Dinner and Hotel Transfers

4.7 (80 verified reviews)

About This Experience

This tour skips the large, well-known Maipo Valley houses and spends the evening at a single family-owned boutique winery, Alyan Family Wines in Pirque. The operator, Chile Tours, collects you from your hotel between about 15:00 and 15:30 and drives 50 to 60 minutes south of Santiago by van.

About four hours are spent at the winery. The itinerary lists a guided tour, time to look around the estate and a wine tasting timed for the sunset, with snacks served alongside the wine. The listing counts six different Alyan wines over the course of the evening.

The visit ends with an informal dinner, which the operator says is shared with members of the Alyan family. You are dropped back at your hotel at around 22:30. Several reviewers name the same driver-guide and describe generous pours, comfortable transport and an unhurried pace.

Keep the whole afternoon and evening free for this one. The sunset depends on the weather, and one reviewer whose day had no visible sunset still rated the evening highly. The listing asks you to bring warm clothing, a jacket and a charged phone.

The tour is not suitable for anyone under 18 or for people with mobility impairments. Souvenirs and wine purchases are not included in the price. You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund.

We had such a fantastic experience on Raul’s adventure to Alyan Family wines. So much more than a wine tasting. Wines were wonderful, the door-to-door service is great. Raul is a very personable, fun character and knowledgeable too. Speaks many languages, including Australian. Clearly loves what he is doing. Highly recommend this experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time is pickup and when do I get back?

The operator picks you up at your hotel between about 15:00 and 15:30, and the itinerary lists Providencia as the pickup area, so check your hotel's location when you book. The drive to Pirque takes 50 to 60 minutes. You are dropped back at your hotel at around 22:30, which makes this an afternoon-and-evening outing.

Is dinner included in the price?

Yes. The tour ends with an informal dinner at the winery, which the operator says is shared with members of the Alyan family. Snacks are also served with the wine earlier in the evening. The listing does not describe the menu in detail. Souvenirs and any bottles you want to buy are not included.

How many wines will I taste?

The listing says you taste six different Alyan Family Wines over the evening, served with snacks during the sunset part of the visit and continuing into dinner. Several reviewers mention generous pours. Only one winery is visited, so all six wines come from the Alyan family's own range rather than from different producers.

What happens if it is cloudy at sunset?

The tour still runs: the guided visit, tasting and dinner do not depend on the weather, but a clear sunset does. One reviewer whose day had no visible sunset still rated the evening five stars. The listing recommends warm clothing and a jacket, since much of the visit runs into the evening.

Can children or travelers with limited mobility join?

The listing says the tour is not suitable for children under 18 or for people with mobility impairments. The evening is built around wine tasting and a dinner served with wine, and the visit includes walking around the winery grounds. If you have specific access needs, contact the operator before booking.

Which languages does the guide speak?

The listing offers the tour in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Reviewers from Australia and the United Kingdom praise the driver-guide's English, and one notes that he speaks several languages. Choose your preferred language when you book so the operator can plan the group.
