The Experience

What the Four-Winery Day Includes

Tastings at four wineries, full guided visits at two of them, and pisco, olive oil and cheese along the way.

Highlights

  • Walk the La Quirinca family farm and meet the alpacas, llamas and chickens before tasting wine and pisco.
  • Taste red, white and sparkling wines alongside pisco, olive oil and cheese across four wineries in one day.
  • See wine made at very different scales, from small family production to large traditional estates.
  • Stop at TerraMater around midday, where the Zinfandel restaurant serves lunch and the shop sells the winery's olive oil.
  • Finish at Undurraga on the Premium Route, or at Viña Ballek by the Maipo River on the Traditional options.
  • Get picked up from your hotel or Airbnb in Santiago and dropped back there in the early evening.

What's Included

  • Hotel or Airbnb pickup and drop-off — collection from 7:30 am in set areas of Santiago and return around 6:00 to 6:30 pm.
  • Professional guide — a guide in English or Spanish for the whole day, with production explained at the wineries.
  • Tastings at four wineries — red, white and sparkling wine, pisco, olive oil and cheese, according to the option descriptions.
  • Full guided tours at two wineries — gardens, cellars and the llama and alpaca farm at La Quirinca.
  • Air-conditioned vehicle — transport between Santiago and every stop on the route.
  • Lunch at a winery restaurant — included only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option.

The Four Stops in Order

The listing's route, which the operator may reorder on the day.

  1. La Quirinca farm

The first stop is a family farm winery. You walk the gardens and production areas, meet the alpacas, llamas and chickens, then sit down in the tasting room for wine and Chilean pisco. Local products are on sale if you want something to take home.

  2. Santa Ema

Next is Viña Santa Ema, an Italian-Chilean family winery in Isla de Maipo that makes still and sparkling wines. The GetYourGuide listing of the same day places this tasting at the winery's shop and gives it about 45 minutes, so it is the shortest stop.

  3. TerraMater and lunch

Around 12:30 pm the group reaches TerraMater, home of the Zinfandel restaurant. Lunch is in the price only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option; on the other options you pay there or eat your own food in the van. The shop sells the winery's olive oil.

  4. Undurraga or Ballek

The Premium Route finishes with the full Undurraga tour: four premium wines, gardens, vineyards, the barrel cellar and a pre-Columbian exhibit. The Traditional options end instead at Viña Ballek, with a slower tasting among the vines beside the Maipo River, before drop-off at around 6:00 to 6:30 pm.

FOUR-WINERY GUIDE

Maipo Valley 4 Winery Tours: Stop by Stop

What each winery adds, how lunch works on every option and which platform to book.

Four-winery days are the busiest way to see the Maipo Valley from Santiago, and one operator, Stamp’s Tour, runs the version most travellers book. Book the Maipo Valley Wine Tour with 4 wineries and pisco on Viator: it starts from $119 per person and has 4.9 from 2,725 Viator reviews, the most-reviewed Maipo wine tour on this site (prices checked October 2026). The same operator sells the day on GetYourGuide as the Maipo Valley Wine Tour to Four Wineries, from $149 per person with 4.8 from 620 reviews.

Before you choose an option, know two things. Four wineries means four tastings, with full guided visits at only two of them. And lunch is included on just one of the four options.

What four wineries means on the day

Every option of the Viator tour includes tastings at four wineries, and full guided tours at two of them, which the listing describes as gardens, cellars and the alpaca and llama farm at La Quirinca. At the other stops you taste without a full tour. Across the day the listing promises red, white and sparkling wine, plus pisco, olive oil and cheese. The operator does not publish a total number of wines; one reviewer in August 2026 counted 11 wines and 4 piscos.

Pickup starts from 7:30 am at hotels and Airbnbs in set areas of Santiago, and drop-off is at around 6:00 to 6:30 pm, about 10 hours in all. Your exact pickup time arrives by WhatsApp or email after 8 pm the night before. The listing notes that the order of the visits may change on the day.

Stop by stop

La Quirinca comes first. It is a family farm winery where you walk the gardens and the production area, meet alpacas, llamas and chickens, then taste wine and pisco in the tasting room. The GetYourGuide itinerary gives it 2 hours and adds cheese and local snacks, which makes it the longest stop of the day.

Santa Ema is second. The Pavone family, Italian immigrants from Piedmont, bought the 35-hectare Santa Ema property in Isla de Maipo in 1931, and Félix Pavone Arbea founded the winery in 1956. It makes still and sparkling wines. On the GetYourGuide version the stop is a tasting at the winery shop of about 45 minutes, with three premium wines.

TerraMater is the lunch stop, around 12:30 pm. The three Canepa sisters founded it in 1996, and it makes olive oil as well as wine, which you can buy in the shop. The Zinfandel restaurant is where the group eats.

The last stop depends on the route. The Premium Route ends with the full Undurraga tour, which the listing aims at wine history fans: four premium wines, gardens, vineyards, the barrel cellar and a pre-Columbian exhibit. Francisco Undurraga Vicuña founded the winery in 1885 on the Fundo Santa Ana in Talagante, and its park was designed by the French landscaper George Henri Dubois. The Traditional options end at Viña Ballek, which the operator calls the most relaxed way to finish, with tastings among the vines beside the Maipo River. See our Undurraga winery tours page if that estate is the reason you are going.

Boutique farms and big estates in one day

What reviewers mention most is the range of scale. The day moves from small family production with manual processes at La Quirinca to a long-established estate at Undurraga, and the wineries in between sit somewhere along that line. “We were able to experience all the different levels of wineries from the small to the very large,” wrote one reviewer in August 2026. Another, giving four stars, liked “especially the first 2 boutique operations.”

If you want the historic estate, book the Premium Route so the day ends at Undurraga. If you would rather finish slowly outdoors, the Traditional route ends at Ballek. Travellers who mainly want the big names, Concha y Toro and Santa Rita, will find them on private days, covered below, and on our Concha y Toro tours page.

Lunch on each option

Lunch is the detail that catches people out, so here is how each option handles it.

  • Traditional route: lunch not included. Pay at the restaurant or bring your own and eat it in the van.
  • Traditional + Lunch Included: the meal at the winery restaurant is in the price.
  • Premium Route: lunch not included, on the same terms as the Traditional route.
  • Private Tour: the same day with private transport, and lunch is not included.
  • GetYourGuide version: lunch at TerraMater is at your own cost.

If you pay on the day, Chilean restaurants with table service must suggest a tip of at least 10%, which you may decline. Gratuities for the guide are not included on any option.

Viator or GetYourGuide: why the same day costs more

The two listings come from the same operator and share the first three stops, but they differ in more than price.

  • Price: from $119 per person on Viator against from $149 per person on GetYourGuide, a $30 gap at the from-price.
  • Route: the GetYourGuide itinerary always ends at Undurraga and adds a 15-minute photo stop by the Maipo River. On Viator, Undurraga is the Premium Route, and the from-price does not say which option it belongs to.
  • Lunch: only Viator sells an option with lunch included.
  • Length: 10 hours on Viator, about 10 to 11 hours on GetYourGuide.
  • Pickup: GetYourGuide lists Providencia, central Santiago, Las Condes and Estación Central between 7:30 and 8:00 am.
  • Reviews: 4.9 from 2,725 on Viator, 4.8 from 620 on GetYourGuide.

To compare like with like, price the Viator Premium Route on your date against the GetYourGuide figure. For most travellers Viator is the better buy, because it offers the lunch-included option and the cheaper Traditional route. Both have free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead. One GetYourGuide reviewer in September 2026 hinted that the operator may change the pace of the day, so read the current itinerary before you pay.

Alternatives to the four-winery day

The Maipo Valley Wine and Food Trail is Stamp’s Tour’s food-led day. It opens with a Chilean breakfast tasting, visits La Quirinca, walks through avocado fields to a riverside vineyard for three wines outdoors, and ends at a historic estate the itinerary links to Undurraga. Lunch is fire-cooked at Labranza Restaurant and included only on the Full wine trail option. It costs from $135 per person with 4.8 from 69 Viator reviews, and guiding adds Portuguese. Older reviews describe an earlier, shorter version of the listing.

The Maipo Valley Little Wine Bus from Maipo Wine Tours is the higher-priced take on the same idea. It starts with brunch and wine at La Espina del Arte, then has premium tastings at Santa Ema, TerraMater and De Martino, a traditional lunch at a country villa by the Maipo River, and a wine activity at La Era. Brunch and lunch are both included. It costs from $458 per person, with 4.9 from 97 Viator reviews, over 9 hours, with pickup from any Santiago address, the airport or the central stations. De Martino traces its story to Pietro De Martino’s arrival from Italy in 1934, and says it labelled and exported Chile’s first Carmenère in 1996.

For the historic estates with lunch paid, the Private Maipo Valley Tour with Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga costs from $636 per person with 5.0 from 31 Viator reviews. Our private wine tours page compares it with cheaper private days.
