"We loved our Maipo Valley tour. Our tour guide Esme and driver Matias were wonderful. They were kind, informative and very nice. We enjoyed learning about Chilean wine and visiting the different wineries. It was nice to try the different wines and pisco. We had such a great experience and this was such a memorable experience. Would definitely recommend for everyone to do this tour."

Before You Book
A Four-Winery Day Is Mostly Unhurried Stops
The first winery is only about 40 minutes from Santiago, yet four stops still fill about 10 hours, because each one is a visit with a walk, a tasting and time to look around, and lunch sits in the middle. Here is how the four-winery day runs, per the operator's published itinerary. The order of the visits may change on the day.
- From 7:30 — pickup in Santiago — Stamp's Tour collects you from hotels and Airbnbs in set areas of the city. Your exact pickup time arrives by WhatsApp or email after 8 pm the night before.
- First stop — La Quirinca family farm — A walk through the gardens and production area, the alpacas, llamas and chickens, then wine and Chilean pisco in the tasting room. The operator's twin listing allows about 2 hours here.
- Second stop — Santa Ema — An Italian-Chilean winery founded in 1956 that makes still and sparkling wines. The twin listing gives about 45 minutes for the tasting.
- About 12:30 — TerraMater and lunch — Home of the Zinfandel restaurant and an olive oil sold in the shop. Lunch is in the price only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option; otherwise pay on the day or bring your own.
- Last stop — Undurraga or Viña Ballek — The Premium Route ends with the full Undurraga tour: four premium wines, the gardens, the barrel cellar and a pre-Columbian exhibit. The Traditional options end at Viña Ballek, tasting among the vines by the Maipo River.
- About 18:00 to 18:30 — back at your hotel — The van drops you back at your accommodation, roughly 10 hours after pickup.

The Short Version
How to Choose a Maipo Valley Wine Tour
A full day at several wineries, a half day at one famous estate, a private car or an evening with dinner. Start with how much of the day you want to give it.
The Maipo Valley is the wine country around Santiago. Chile’s 1994 wine-zoning decree makes it a subregion of the Central Valley and draws it over every province of the Santiago Metropolitan Region, from Pirque and Buin to Isla de Maipo and Talagante. It sits between the Andes and the Coastal Range, and Chile’s tourism board puts the first vineyards about 50 km from the city, roughly an hour by road. The same board calls the valley the cradle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, Syrah and Carménère also do well here.
Because the wineries are so close, a Maipo wine day can be almost any length. The tours on this site fall into four kinds, and the kind you choose shapes the day more than any single winery. Our Maipo Valley wine tours from Santiago page covers the logistics common to all of them.
The full multi-winery day
If wine is the reason for the trip, book a shared day that strings several wineries together. The one we would start with is Maipo Valley Wine Tour: 4 Wineries, Pisco Tasting and Optional Lunch by Stamp’s Tour. It runs about 10 hours, with pickup from hotels and Airbnbs in set areas of Santiago from 7:30 am, tastings at four wineries and full guided visits at two of them. You start at La Quirinca, a family farm with alpacas and llamas, where wine comes with Chilean pisco, then move on to Santa Ema and TerraMater. The Premium Route ends with the full Undurraga tour, and the Traditional options end at Viña Ballek by the Maipo River. It is from $119 per person and rated 4.9 from 2,725 Viator reviews, the most-reviewed Maipo wine tour on this site.
Check the lunch before you book. The meal at the winery restaurant is included only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option; on the others you pay on the day or bring your own. The same operator sells a version on GetYourGuide, from $149 with 4.8 from 620 reviews, which ends at Undurraga and leaves lunch at TerraMater to you. Our 4 winery tours page compares these days stop by stop.
For more food and fewer tastings, the same company runs the Maipo Valley Wine and Food Trail: a Chilean breakfast tasting, La Quirinca, an outdoor tasting at a riverside vineyard, a fire-cooked meal at Labranza Restaurant and a last stop linked to Undurraga. It is from $135 with 4.8 from 69 Viator reviews, and lunch is included only on the Full wine trail option.
Concha y Toro, the famous name
Concha y Toro was founded in Pirque in 1883, and its visitor centre is home to the cellar behind the Casillero del Diablo legend: the founder, the story goes, spread a rumour that the Devil lived there to stop his best wines disappearing. Most visits from Santiago take four to five hours.
Marqués de Casa Concha Tasting at Concha y Toro is the one we would book. Turistik’s bus leaves from Plaza de Armas, Las Condes or Parque Arauco, and the visit ends in a private room with six Marqués de Casa Concha wines and four premium wines, served with a cheese board. It is from $135, rated 4.9 from 1,223 Viator reviews, and lunch is not included. The shorter tasting on the Premium Wine Center Tour is from $105, and Ruta Chile’s version adds hotel pickup from $82. See Concha y Toro tours from Santiago, and if you are torn between the two big names, Concha y Toro vs Undurraga.
Private tours
A private tour puts only your group in the car, and both private multi-winery days here include lunch. Private Maipo Valley Tour: Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga visits three long-established estates over 10 hours, with an à la carte lunch paired with Reserva wine at Santa Rita’s Doña Paula restaurant. It is from $636 per person, rated 5.0 from 31 Viator reviews, and pickup can be at your hotel, the airport or the bus station.
For a lower price per person, Private Maipo Valley Tour: Aquitania, Santa Rita and Chilean Lunch is from $290 and rated 5.0 from 14 reviews, with a boutique tasting at Aquitania, a Chilean lunch and Santa Rita’s Andean museum in 7 to 8 hours. Private Maipo Valley wine tours also covers the horseback and grill day.
A half day: Undurraga or Cousiño Macul
If you have a morning or an afternoon, pick one winery. Undurraga, founded in 1885 in Talagante, is reached on Undurraga Vineyard Tour and Tasting with Hotel Transfer, from $60 with 4.8 from 92 GetYourGuide reviews over about 4 to 4.5 hours. It is the lowest-priced tour on this site that includes hotel transport. The driver does not speak English; the English guiding happens at the vineyard. See Undurraga winery tours.
Cousiño Macul dates to 1856 and sits inside Santiago itself, in Peñalolén. The winery’s own Heritage Wine Tour with Tastings takes 1 to 1.5 hours and is from $25, rated 4.9 from 167 GetYourGuide reviews. There is no transport, so you get there by taxi or ride-hailing app. Cousiño Macul winery tours and half-day Maipo wine tours compare the short options.
An evening at a boutique winery
Alyan Family Wines Sunset Tour with Dinner turns the plan around. Pickup is between about 15:00 and 15:30, you taste six Alyan wines with snacks while the sun goes down over a family-run winery in Pirque, then stay for an informal dinner, and you are back at your hotel around 22:30. It is from $143 with 4.7 from 80 GetYourGuide reviews, and dinner is included. See Alyan Family Wines.
Two booking platforms
The tours here are sold on Viator and GetYourGuide, and some appear on both as twins: the same operator and route, with separate prices and separate reviews. The figures on this site are each platform’s from-prices, per person, as checked in October 2026. The live price is always on the booking page.
Before you go
If you drive yourself, Chile’s zero-tolerance law treats a driver with 0.3 grams of alcohol per litre of blood as under the influence, so someone has to skip the tastings. The legal drinking age is 18, and several listings ask for ID. Harvest runs from February to April, with festivals in March and April. The valley can be visited all year; bring sun protection for the day and a windbreaker for the evening, and book ahead in high season. Restaurants must suggest a tip of at least 10%, which you can decline.
If you are weighing Maipo against the coast, the Casablanca Valley is about 72 km from Santiago and best known for Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, while Maipo is Cabernet country less than an hour away.
Still undecided? Which Maipo Valley wine tour is right for you matches every tour to a type of trip. Otherwise, the tour we would book first is the four-winery day at the top of this page: check availability.

Maipo Valley Wine Tour FAQ
The questions people ask before they book a wine day from Santiago, answered from the operators' own listings.
A visit to Cousiño Macul inside Santiago starts from $25 per person without transport, and half days with hotel pickup start from $60 at Undurraga and $82 at Concha y Toro. The four-winery day is from $119, and private tours run from $90 for Cousiño Macul to $636 for three estates with lunch. These are the platforms' from-prices in October 2026. See wine tours from Santiago.
Very close. Chile's tourism board puts the first vineyards about 50 km from Santiago, roughly an hour by road, and the valley covers the whole Santiago Metropolitan Region. Cousiño Macul is inside the city in Peñalolén, while the four-winery day drives about 40 minutes south to its first stop. Nearly every tour here includes transport from Santiago. See half-day wine tours for the shortest trips.
Anything from about an hour to a full day. The Cousiño Macul heritage tour takes 1 to 1.5 hours at the winery, the Undurraga and Concha y Toro half days take about 4 to 5 hours, and the multi-winery days, shared or private, run 7 to 10 hours hotel to hotel. The Alyan sunset tour lasts 6 to 7.5 hours, from mid-afternoon to about 22:30. The half-day vs full-day page compares them.
The big names are Concha y Toro in Pirque, Undurraga in Talagante, Santa Rita in Alto Jahuel and Cousiño Macul in Santiago. The four-winery day adds smaller houses: the La Quirinca family farm, Santa Ema, TerraMater and either Undurraga or Viña Ballek, depending on the option. Private tours also reach Aquitania and Miraflores, and one evening tour visits Alyan Family Wines. See 4 winery tours.
It depends on the tour and often on the option. On the four-winery day, lunch is included only on the Traditional + Lunch Included option. The two private multi-winery days include lunch, at Santa Rita's Doña Paula restaurant or a local Chilean restaurant. The Concha y Toro and Undurraga half days include no meal, and the Alyan sunset tour includes dinner. See private wine tours.
Yes, and five tours on this site go there. Turistik runs five-hour trips by bus from Plaza de Armas, Las Condes or Parque Arauco: the Marqués de Casa Concha tasting is from $135 with 4.9 from 1,223 Viator reviews, and the Premium Wine Center tour from $105. A version with hotel pickup is from $82 on GetYourGuide. None includes lunch. See Concha y Toro tours from Santiago.
Yes, four with their own page here. Concha y Toro, Santa Rita and Undurraga with lunch is from $636 per person and rated 5.0 from 31 Viator reviews. Aquitania and Santa Rita with a Chilean lunch is from $290, a horseback ride with a country grill and an organic winery from $585, and a half-day private visit to Cousiño Macul from $90. Compare them on private Maipo Valley wine tours.
Pick Concha y Toro for the best-known name and the Casillero del Diablo cellar, and Undurraga for a lower price, with hotel pickup from $60. Concha y Toro was founded in Pirque in 1883 and Undurraga in Talagante in 1885. If you want both, one GetYourGuide tour visits the two in a 9 to 10 hour day from $76, lunch not included. See Concha y Toro vs Undurraga.
The valley can be visited all year. Harvest runs from February to April, and Maipo harvest festivals were held in March and April in 2026. Summers are hot and dry and winters cold and wet, so bring sun protection for the day and a windbreaker for the evening. Book winery visits ahead in high season. Plan the day with wine tours from Santiago.
The legal drinking age in Chile is 18, and most listings repeat it. The Turistik Concha y Toro trips serve the tasting only to over-18s and ask for ID, and the Alyan sunset tour is not suitable for under-18s. On the Premium Wine Center trip, children can ride the bus but only adults join the winery visit. Check the listing before you book with family. See Cousiño Macul tours.
You can, but plan the driving. Chile's zero-tolerance law treats a driver with 0.3 grams of alcohol per litre of blood as under the influence, so one person has to skip the tastings. Cousiño Macul is inside Santiago and easy by taxi, and Undurraga says buses run to Talagante from Terminal San Borja. Book tastings in advance. Our Undurraga page covers its winery ticket.
For some tours, yes. The four-winery day is on Viator from $119 and on GetYourGuide from $149, and the Marqués de Casa Concha tasting and the Bahá'í Temple and Cousiño Macul trip are on both too. Twins share an operator and route but have separate prices and reviews, so compare both before you pay. Each tour page shows where to book. Start with 4 winery tours.
